Christopher Zane Nestor
Master Craftsman
Cabinetmaker
Carpenter
Carriage Builder
Heavy Horseman
Christopher Zane Nestor has been a self-employed woodworker since 1980, working with wood as a carpenter for 15 years prior to that. His custom made furniture is based on those years of acquired skill and the mastering of traditional hand skills. Chris's work has brought him to make or repair most anything involving wood. Tradition, quality, and longevity are his main attitude toward his works.
Most custom pieces are made from local hardwoods conventionally found in the beautiful surrounding hills and valleys of Wisconsin, sometimes even coming from his own woods logged by his own heavy horses. Because of Chris's involvement with heavy horses he does work on horse drawn vehicles, adding yet another dimension to his work and skills.
If you have an interesting project and are interested in having it become a family heirloom of lasting quality and beauty, made by a single craftsman from start to finish contact Chris Nestor.
"The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which; he simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."
