Educational Lectures
Using his Clydesdale horse and with the option of either an extremely rare1800's Scottish tip cart, or 1893 English Wagon Chris Nestor, along with his collie "lassie", has developed an interesting, informative, and interactive presentation. Captivating attention with his magnificent Clydesdale, Chris demonstrates how these working animals played a vital role in the lives of people and the environment in Wisconsin's fields, forests and developing cities.
Presentations can be customized to meet a schools need. Midwest history, pre internal combustion engine and medieval culture significantly involved the working horse. Those who teach the Medieval Renaissance theme will be intrigued by the story of the Scottish tip cart. How many of us know that the heavy horse was the horse a king's knight chose for battle? ____There's so much more to learn!
Chris Nestor has raised and worked Clydesdales Since 1980. His horses have performed at state and local fairs, National shows and Scottish fairs throughout the Midwest. In 1996 and 1997, Covered Bridge Clydesdales has been a featured performance at Equitana USA___ "the Worlds Fair of Equestrian Sports." In 1997, Covered Bridge Clydesdales presented informative demonstrations at the Gateway Area Council's Cub Scour "Knights of the Roundtable" summer event.
